Dr. Ahmet Ata Akatay

About

Senior research scientist with a research focus on physical optics, caustic beams, laser microscopy and related experimental/computational techniques.

Previous work:
Development of advanced optical systems for

  1. spectral phase measurement of surface plasmon resonance by holographic imaging
  2. caustic shaping of total internal reflection (TIR) illumination beam
  3. 3D total internal reflection fluorescence–structured illumination microscopy (3D TIRF-SIM)

Development of simulation techniques for

  1. caustic beam propagation using physical optics modeling
  2. TIRF-SIM imaging of clathrin-coated structures on plasma membrane
